Dr. Cody Pittman
DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC
CEO & FOUNDER
My name is Cody Pittman. I am a board certified, doctorate prepared psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. While being in the Nursing field for the past 15 years, I have seen my fair share of how much the mind can endure. We humans all have one thing in common known as the brain, but we each are wired a little differently. Many of us have endured positive and negative life changing events that have led to where we are today. While in my graduate studies to become an advanced practice registered nurse, I saw the need for mental health in the community setting. I developed Healing Neurons Psychiatry in order to place the patient first. At Healing Neurons Psychiatry, we work hard to ensure your mental health is on the road to improvement. Do you find yourself needing to get back on the right foot? Feel that speaking to a psychiatric professional could get you back on track? Well, you've come to the right place! Give our office a call and learn about the different treatment options that could help you get back on the road to success.

Brittany Slider
MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
My name is Brittany Slider. I knew at a young age I wanted to work in the mental health field and with underserved populations. I started my journey as a mental health technician in 2009 and became a nurse in 2011. I have worked in mental health my entire nursing career in various settings: corrections, inpatient hospital, outpatient, and with all ages. Mental health is very important to me and I am passionate about helping people on their journey to overcome trauma and achieve a healthy mind. I am a strong advocate and enjoy educating to reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health care. I am a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and I am specialized in trauma-informed care treatment. I look forward to helping patients on their journey to healing.
Dr. Katie Waltrip
DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Hello! My name is Katie Waltrip, and I am a board-certified, doctorate-prepared psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. After graduating from the University of Kentucky in 2013, I began my nursing career in the emergency department. Over the years, I realized the lack of quality mental health care available to those patients in need, which is what motivated me to become a PMHNP. I am passionate about helping people and their mental health, and I am grateful to be able to do so as a career! In my spare time, I enjoy playing volleyball, spending time with my family and friends, and cheering on my beloved Kentucky Wildcats!

Jacob Knox
MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Jacob started his career in healthcare before he was out of high school. His first job was as an activity's assistant at a nursing home in his hometown, where he created great relationships with residents providing fun and recreational activities. He first developed an interest in mental health when he was a Behavioral Health Recovery Attendant at Madison State Hospital. After moving to Louisville, he spent 13 years at Baptist Health Louisville working mainly critical care in the Intensive Care Unit and as a House Float where he provided care on all different floors and specialties. He also had brief stints in other areas of healthcare including corrections, at Kentucky State Reformatory in a management position, as well as in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at University of Louisville hospital. In his free time, he and his family enjoy all aspects of the outdoors, including off-roading and spending time at the lake.
